Memory
of my great uncle Fedir Chernyk
The following is from the Chernyk email bag.
Dear Mr. Shalay,
I am impressed
by the wonderful way you found to honor the memory
of my great uncle Fedir Chernyk.
I am the
granddaughter of Fedir Chernyk's younger brother Antin. My father Myron Chernyk resides
in Lviv. He is working on a text book for his
students at Lviv Politechnical Institute.
I came to the United States in 1991
with B.A. in teaching Germanic Languages from Ivan
Franko Lviv University.
In New
York I worked both for the New York Public Library
as a librarian and on my Master's in Information
and Library Science. I got my MLS in June 1995
from Pratt Institute, NY.
Now I
reside in New Brunswick, NJ with my husband
Ernest Nagy.
My husband
and I would like to come to Detroit at some point to
meet the people who hold dear the memory of my great
uncle and bring up the new generation in the spirit
of patriotism.
Please, advise
us of a good time for a visit.
Very truly
yours,
Marta Chernyk Nagy.
